Spring Break Day 2017

Today we celebrated Spring Break in style. Oldies music in the court yard, bubbles, sunshine, carnival games, margarita’s, and cupcakes. What a busy day but it was so much fun to see all the smiles from staff and residents. Can’t wait until next Spring Break to see what we will come up with then.

Compassion Fund Grant helps Mary Johnson after devastating fire!

When asked about her feelings concerning the Compassion Fund assistance. Mary said, “I was shocked by the amount!” She told me that her fellow stakeholders on 3rd Shift at Chillicothe have been her support system since the fire. Mary and her family currently are living in a rental and have used the gift to purchase appliances, some bedroom furniture and for Utility Deposits. Mary said she is blessed to be part of the Signature Family and that we truly care for each other.

SHC of Chillicothe Partners with the Ross County Humane Society

Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe couples with the Ross County Humane Society to bring smiles to our elders every Friday.

The greeter dog program was started by Dona Hall, and is designed to get the shelter dogs out and hopefully get them adopted. However, for our residents, it is a joyful time they can’t wait to experience.

The dogs they bring are gentle and loving and are all loved by our residents. Follow the link to see photos and read the full story here.

Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe Enjoys a Day at the Races

Nothing says spring like a day at the races. Signature HeatlhCARE of Chillicothe was the guest of honor at the Columbus Motor Speedway on April 18.

Signature was welcomed in the announcements and treated to a special night of meet and greets down on the track where we signed the lead car and received autographs from all our favorite drivers.

We then went to the stands to take our front row seats and enjoy the races. Sights, sounds, and smells of the track brought back so many great memories us.

“It was super fun and I got to share it with my boys,” said Ron Arledge of Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe who was accompanied to the races by his two sons.

Spring Break Day at Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe

Signature HealthCARE’s company-wide Spring Fling event in Ohio was a bit wet, but that did not dampen the spirit of celebration here at Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe. We were invited to an intergenerational event at the Pickaway Ross Career and Technology Center.

While at the event our seniors were treated to manicures, pedicures, metal art, carpentry games, prizes, health screenings, a full salad and soup buffet. They received all the special care and attention they could ask for from some amazing students.

The students had activities of all kinds that included spring plants, clogging, music, dancing, and the like. “They really know how to treat a lady,” says Dorothy Pettit of Signature HealthCARE of CHillicothe.

Each senior there was given a student to be their own personal companion. Our Spring Fling event continued once we returned to the facility to enjoy a cookout and many games like corn hole, toss across, badminton, and volleyball.

Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe Celebrates Easter

Easter at Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe was marked with lots of love and laughter as the halls filled with children for a full day of fun and games with our elders. Our elders and the children enjoyed the traditional Easter events such as egg coloring, cookie decorating, egg hunting, and easter baskets.

The children also enjoyed a pizza party, popcorn, movies, and a reading of “The Easter Story.” The Easter bunny also made a special appearence to visit the children and all our elders.

Spirituality LearnFEST draws crowd for virtual learning conference

More than 1,000 Signature staff members registered for the recent Spirituality LearnFEST, a virtual learning conference that encouraged participants to consider the impact of spirituality, if fully activated, in a long-term care environment.

And that number doesn’t even include the many who joined in groups, in offices, breakrooms and wherever there were TVs or computers at Signature centers across 10 states to view the live broadcast. The event featured sessions that tied spirituality to numerous aspects of long-term care and health care, from clinical care to legislative involvement and the impact of spirituality in the workplace.
