Ohio Nursing Home Quality Scores

An article recently published in the Chillicothe Gazette highlights and recognizes Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe’s accomplishments and our commitment to uphold Signature’s mission of revolutionizing the landscape of healthcare forever.

While other facilities struggle to achieve and maintain five star ratings, Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe has maintained our five star rating since 2014.

The new standards for the CMS rating system pose challenges for many facilities, however, in keeping with Signature’s core values, Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe is working to implement new programing in a continued effort to enhance it’s quality of care and maintain its high standard of excellence.

We welcomed new centers to the family and took pivotal steps to position SHC as an integrated care network capable of meeting health care needs across the full spectrum of care. We expanded into new business lines while continuing to enhance and invest in existing service offerings.

SHC and Heartland partner to raise 500+ food items for area residents

Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe recently challenged other area nursing facilities to a canned food drive, which was accepted by Heartland of Chillicothe.

The canned food drive spanned two weeks, and in the end Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe prevailed as the overall winner – but only by a hair. Over 500 items were donated to the Good Samaritan Food Bank. The donations were delivered on Friday, December 19, by members of Portsmouth Ambulance.

The canned food drive was a success thanks to the coordinated efforts of all those who participated, and the ultimate winners are the families of Ross County who are in need of help this holiday season. We, at Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe, hope to make this an annual tradition and look forward to adding additional agencies in the years to come.

A night on the town…

Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe took the elders out to see the lights and celebrate Christmas at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing.

Fifteen elders and stakeholders went to the mall to look at the lights and decorations of the Tuttle Crossing Mall. The festive music and shopping put everyone in the Christmas Spirit, and then Santa came. We all enjoyed a dinner of our choosing while we listened to the music and watched the children play in the play area near the food court.

After a relaxing dinner, we all gathered onto the bus and headed to the Alum Creek Drive Thru Fantasy of Lights display for a magical trip through the Christmas light wonderland set to music. To finish out the evening, we stopped at Santa’s house, and the Elves treated us to cookies and hot cocoa. It was a magical night for everyone.

“This is the best night of my whole life,” said elder Sharon Recor.

“This is one of those nights I will remember forever,” said Chris Leith, RN, MDS Coordinator. “It was Amazing.”

Residents pick Santa’s top helpers

it matters elfThis month’s ‘It Matters’ event was for the elders to crown the most helpful, respectful and positive Santa’s helper.

The elders were given Christmas bows to pin on each staff member’s shirt, provided that staff member had exhibited the most helpful, respectful and positive attitudes that day, and throughout the month. These are ongoing events that we hold at least monthly to help refocus us all on those we serve and on what really MATTERS.

Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe celebrated Veterans Day by honoring our veterans throughout the week.

On Monday, we took several veterans and other elders to Dayton, Ohio to see the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum which kicked off the week-long celebration.

“It was an Amazing Adventure,” said Ronald Jones, an Army veteran who accompanied us on our journey.  During our trip we enjoyed lunch and fellowship at the nearby Burger King.

We continued our celebration on Tuesday with a ceremony celebrating all our veteran elders. We had stakeholders and family present for many of our elders, and following the honorary ceremony, they enjoyed a time of socializing and remembrance.

SHC of Chillicothe hosts Trick-or-Treaters

Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe hosted a community Trick-or-Treat and we had a blast. Elders handed candy out to many stakeholders and community children. They also awarded prizes for each age group, for best costume. After the mad dash for candy, the elders and children enjoyed socializing with each other while eating cookies and drinking punch.
