Holiday Hoopla Christmas 2017

Our annual Christmas party for stakeholders and residents was titled the Holiday Hoopla and rightfully so. We combined parties and had an amazing fun filled party day for everyone. Santa visited, so of course, there were presents and cookies but there was also a Christmas feast complete with homemade noodles (an all time favorite). Our theme this year was the “Polar Express” motto of “Believing”. Trains graced our tables and dining area and the residents made bells to express their appreciation to our wonderful stakeholders. After getting filled up on all the delicious food and desserts we tuned into a special viewing of the movie “Polar Express.” All in all it was a great holiday hoopla party.

Ross County Senior Bag Outreach

Every year the Ross Country Senior Advisory Council prepare bags for Ross County seniors who are unable to get out and about during the winter. The program is designed to provide seniors who are in need of meal deliveries in the winter months and who are homebound. The bags include toiletry items, socks, food (quick/easy fix items) and the like. Agencies serving seniors banded together to bridge the gap whenever the meal trucks could not run due to snow and icy conditions leaving many homebound seniors to fend for themselves. Signature Healthcare enjoys participating in this outreach every year and supports the senior advisory council in many senior related endeavors. It is our honor to help those who have served us in years past.

Hall of Fame Honors Inductees

The 2017 Hall of Fame celebration was, as usual, an evening to remember for those inducted. The inductees this year were Solon Graham, a WWII veteran with distinguished community services, Melvin Jones Sr., a Korean War veteran with community service accolades, Marian Rhinehart, a entrepreneur and church volunteer, and Marla Bloomfield, a dedicated stakeholder for 24 years. Joining us the night of the induction ceremony were friends and family of each inductee. We enjoyed a slide show tribute to each inductee, a word from them and their families, as well as time to visit and fellowship as we showed our appreciation to each inductee. It was an amazing ceremony for all who attended.

Turkey Trot 2017

Turkey Trot 2017 was fun and exciting here in the halls of Signature of Chillicothe. We walked the hall clucking and fluffing our feathers while others cheered on the participants. We ended our portion of the run and tuned in to watch the event run from our northern most facility to our facility located on the southern tip of Florida. As the event unfolds every year, we look forward to participating in this adventure.

Jaycee’s Halloween Parade

The Jaycee’s Halloween Parade experienced minion mayhem compliments of Signature HealthCARE of Chillicothe. Each year we attend the parade here in downtown Chillicothe and pass out candy. The parade has been a yearly event that we enjoy. The theme for each year is carefully planned by the residents and staff and each year we decorate the bus and dress up in a chosen theme. The agreed on theme this year was the mischievous minions. It was a bright and colorful hit in the parade where we had stakeholders and residents who dressed the part and walked along passing candy or rode along waving and posing for photos. The parade is lots of fun every year and this year was no exception.

Gifts from Friends

Our intergenerational programming includes Pioneer Center, First Capital Enterprises, and Integrated Services. Today in a surprise visit a group came in to visit and spread some warmth. They graced our halls with smiles and blankets for many of our residents who have limited family. We are thankful for our community partnerships.
